I had a look at Ireland's domestic first class league.... and it has 3 teams in it

we complain that we can't play everyone home and away

they must be complaining about having to play everyone home and away 4 times

might as well be playing football in the Scottish Prem

Yep. Can't imagine it'll be very lucrative for the players either. Won't play many internationals and can't imagine the salaries will be great.

I'm sure it's all been carefully planned out (!) but if there is an option for Ireland players to renounce their international status and stay in the county game then I won't be surprised if most of them do. The Irish board already annoyed McCarthy by not picking him in their first test! Takes some doing to fall out with a player before the first game takes place.

Is he referring to the solely T20 supporters or is he not available until next year.
Would have thought that the coming weeks offer the ideal
opportunity to final test his fitness for 4 day cricket.

Hopefully he was just referring to the T20 campaign but it is ambiguous as you say. Suppose it depends if his absence at Glamorgan - not fit enough for a 4 day game - was because he was almost ready but the game came too soon or there's a more serious issue - and that's always a distinct possibility where he is concerned.

Colly situation is interesting , it seems increasingly unlikely he'll play next year after a very poor season and fitness struggles. I suspect though he will want to play out the remaining games and if anyone can have a miraculous comeback it is him.

So maybe that tweet from Wood was him signing off for the season after all! Although if he isn't fit for any of the remaining games it will yet again raise questions about his future and at some stage soon the questions might have to be answered one way for good.

I'd leave out Rimmington for McCarthy but suspect they won't.

I think it was. Only reason I'd go for him is he has some pace and we've conceded a lot of big first innings totals at CLS.

McCarthy 7-4-11-2 not many 4 balls there. Loose couple of overs in his 1st spell in the 1st inns- could have been nicks through the slips for all we know. I'd go for McCarthy every time over Rimmington. Danger off p***ing him off otherwise-he's the only one of our young bowlers who stays fit.
And Colly?- walking wicket in the CC this season. Shuffle across stumps-miss-lbw.

72/6. I was half-joking about wondering if they'd make it to lunch but there's a good chance they won't!
If the groundsman hasn't prepared a ridiculous pitch it must be either unplayable bowling or inept batting. I'm going to pop in for a couple of hours this afternoon-doubt I'll see any of our innings!
