Which begs the question was he offered to Durham?
Would you have had him if so? It would have been a no from me.

no from me too

I'd rather take a punt on Will Gidman if we could only field 10 players

No from me too. It sounds as if Yorkshire were actively looking for a player with so many involved with England. It's probably just as well Yorkshire have already played at the Riverside- would have been an interesting reception.
Started well tonight though- currently 28 not out.

Story in a newspaper saying that India are looking to play a couple of warmup games ahead of the England series. Nothing confirmed yet but it claims if the games go ahead they will be played in the North East.

yes, but they're intra-squad games, can't play against a county because of covid protocol, they're based at Riverside for a month from mid -July. Restrictions may be lifted by then but counties are involved in RL50 then. Pity Durham v India could have been a money spinner.

Yes, I think the article mentioned they were hoping to play an intra-squad game and a select county X1 but if it's during the RL50 and The 100 then it'll be hard to put together a decent 11 even if they're drawn from multiple counties.

I think it's more of an indictment of the tournament itself then the individual player. Fact is we're going to have two mediocre tournaments competing against each other at the height of summer.

Coggers. Marty mentioned on commentary on Sunday that he is likely to be out for the remainder of the season with a torn calf muscle.

It's unlike him to be out for months through injury! :horse

Both commentators know him well of course and questioned whether his ,shall we say, over-exuberant fielding was inviting injury. Fair point imo.

Yes, he did take a nasty tumble around the boundary.
