perhaps they have an easier run in, or perhaps Kent and Sussex have to play each other, because as you rightly point out, Warks seem to be taking their time.

maybe they'll come quickly out of the blocks this afternoon, try and grab a rapid 100 runs

Yep. Think they will try that - if there's any team who are likely to get bowled out in dramatic fashion it's our lot! If they declare before tea I'd back them to win. Actually I think I'd back them even if they declare at tea!

quick look.... Sussex have us and Northants.... easy wins, Kent have Glam and the Middle, but most importantly both have to play Warks, and I guess that is where the perm 2 from 3 will be decided

a tea declaration would be no good, because they may blow our top order away in plenty of time, but our last 4 or 5 will last much longer than our first 5 or 6

That makes it clearer - the crunch game/s are still to come so they don't need to take risks yet.

Barker out now. We might be batting soon. Without wanting to be too pessimistic I think another 2 of the customary lower-order stands would be quite handy to eat up some more time!
Lead is 184 with 4 wickets left.

Yes. 40 overs. The last wicket was a good one - caught and bowled by Patel via Will Smith's head at short leg! No damage done thankfully and I'm sure they'll knock off these runs in style. :facepalm
