(My point not being that by picking Plunkett and Rashid they were going against what they had done in the group stages, but more that they were happy to not play Carver and Pyrah in that game. If you're happy to leave them out of the QF, you should be happy to leave them out of the SF too. I'm a fan of Bresnan, but asking him to carry that attack today by himself was always likely to backfire).

Pyrah, Patterson and Rhodes are too similar bowlers in terms of pace. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but Brooks should have played for that extra variety in the bowling attack.

Yes in Plunkett's absence Yorkshire were definately lacking a "go to" bowler. Does highlight the too heavy schedule when 1day semis clash with ODIs.

And tomorrow's SF could have been a great batting head-to-head. But instead they'll be no Hales, no Taylor and no Roy.

You may just have missed the calm before the storm.

Just a shame that the ECB continues to dictate player availability even in the RLODC semi-finals. The quality of international cricket is one thing, but the pressure situation in tournament cricket is where the top players really need to be tested in.
