Interesting - there was a toss , we won and chose to field. Steel and McCarthy in for Harte and Potts.

If the bowlers can't make hay on the first morning against this batting lineup we will know for sure it's going to be a long season. The visitors obviously wanted to bat - seems very strange.

No wickets in the first 45 minutes has the alarm bells ringing. Either they're bowling with no luck or bowling with no threat.

At least the runs have dried up in recent overs. Looking like a big blunder to let Leicestershire bat first but also understandable why we'd not want to!

Rushworth keeping things very tight, but no one else keeping it tight, and not threatning at all..

Hold the front page - they've got a wicket! 146-1. Horton out to Rimmington c Steel for 75.

165-2. Carberry lbw to McCarthy for 73.
There'll probably be a clatter of wickets and a few overs left for us to bat - and if that happens I think the script is already written for Markram!

ooh... two wickets? :halo:

2 wickets indeed. Brakes seem to be on a little. All about building pressure now, I suppose

Yes but they're not doing it. Ackerman was on 0 for what seemed like a long time but has raced to 17 now.
There's nothing to suggest the decision to bowl was anything other than s blunder but I think there's some assistance in the pitch if they'd just bowl consistent lines and lengths.

Ackerman and Cosgrove... here comes the double hundred stand

perhaps the decision to bowl was just to find out what it feels like to bowl first at the riverside
