7 down but Jordan in now and our nemesis Luke Wells is naturally still in.

And they're approaching the 50 partnership. 117/7.

Partnership broken by a farcical runout with both batsmen at the same end. 119/8.

and of course he scores 80 and is the difference between them getting at worst within 50 runs of our total and Sussex being bowled out for under a 100

I had a feeling this would happen

Yep! Either the pitch has flattened or - more likely- the older ball is less effective, batting looks easier now but with our frailties I think we may be in trouble here.

interestingly, Jordan was the only Sussex player who took the opportunity to have a net this morning.

He never looked like getting out until the disastrous run out.

The stage is now set for the last session of the day to be disastrous one - and then it'll be Bancroft and Sir Ian's members forum!

Finally all out but for about 100 more than they should have made. Effectively a one innings game now and I think we need to set them at least 220.

Steel out in the first over!

Amazingly they didn't lose any more wickets in the last 16 overs. I think batting is easier now and that might not be a good sign because it'd mean we need to set a really challenging target.

to not lose 3 or 4 wickets in that last tricky spell feels like progress

I was sure there'd be a collapse when the wicket went in the first over.

It is progress as was batting all the 1st day and a batting point, that's not just progress, it's miraculous! I thought our batting looked more solid than theirs and whilst Robinson was the best bowler in display our overall bowling is stronger than theirs. Very encouraging.

watching Sussex bat this morning was like watching a load of players trying to impress the England selectors by showing how easily they can gift their wicket away trying to assert their authority on the bowling.

I still have no idea how Wells managed to score more than 8, so 98 really hurts. Despite signs of batting progress, we still haven't managed to stop conceding damaging late order partnerships
