If it wasn't for the fact that it's a final, I'd expect Notts to walk this chase. But it is a final.

Presume with it being on July 1, getting a ton in the fifty over final doesn't lead to a tour spot any more.

But it's much the same situation- 2 test series coming up with no more immediate CC games to make further judgements. So much like a tour place Stoneman has almost guaranteed his selection if Jennings or Balance fail.

Robson might be an option. A heavy run scorer this season, and selected for the current Lions game

Robson might well be an option but the issue under discussion was the significance of high scores in 1 day finals.

Glad I didn't preface his innings with my usual observation that Read is finished.

Though not as finished as Geraint.

Highest score in a Lord's final apparently, from Alex Hales.

Beats Sir Geoffrey's record set in 1965-he made 146 with 15 x 4 and 3 x 6!

Can't quite believe the identity of the previous record holder.

I still vividly remember his painful innings against WI in the 1979 World Cup final!

I wondered if that still stood. Maybe because of all those early morning September collapses over the years.
