Excellent win. I have been out and didn't check the score! If I had I think I'd have been expecting us to lose 3 early wickets !
Jones has done well, his last 3 innings suggest the coaches were right to have faith in him.
Very good game for Potts, I think we're definitely on the up and Borthwick has done well here- annoying dismissal but he set a good platform for Bedingham and Jones , his bowling changes usually paid off, he got rid of Libby...and has remembered how to catch.

Yes but Essex have played a game more so it looks between ourselves, Notts and Warks for top two. We totally outplayed Warks and had the better of the draw with Notts without an overseas or Potts. That's fact but I won't tempt fate

Notts play Derbys and then Warks play Worcs, so we might have to win both of our final 2 games to progress to div 1

It would be a real poke in the eye for FTECB and I would take great pleasure in that, but I think it's a bit of a tall order to get a positive result in both matches

I have no absolutely no doubt that if we look as though we are in with a chance, It will decided that Woody and Stokes need a rest, whilst Broad, Hameed, Sibley and Stone will need all the practice they can get

Yes. Think it was a poor choice of words to say he was available for Championship cricket in the article announcing his return. Unless they were planning to get someone else and the deal fell through.
3 wicketkeepers in the side and one of them isn't Poynter although no doubt the great man is probably just rested.

Pretty straightforward win - as you'd expect against a second eleven. Think there's another match in around half an hour and possibly one or two more tomorrow.
