Yup. When other counties take our players they seem to leave in pairs.

He shouldn't be picked ahead of Burnham then -unless he's on his way also.
Botham did say we were looking to recruit players.
Borthwick? and Cook on a kolpak?

I think he said we're in discussions with domestic and overseas players. I suspect Kolpak signings will be looked at.
According to Lewis Borthwick definitely is not returning and there have been no talks about it.
According to Emmrrsom the problems over Onions deal is he wants two years but the club have only offered one year.

Forgot to add that Lewis says Latham will most likely be back next year.

Northants look to be in with a great chance of beating Notts so maybe Notts aren't certain to go up after all.
We have Worcsester next - we should deliberately lose- so Jennings must retain his place.

What's the story with Will Gidman?

Marty said on a recent commentary that he was coming back next season.

Gidman still actually lives up here and his family are settled here. Plays for Sacriston at weekends when he is available. I could see that happening.

I hadn't heard he might be back. How has he done for Kent? Doesn't seem to be a regular for them.

Tends to bat, and isn't used much with the ball

Thanks. I was keen to try and get him back when he left Notts but my impression ( might be unfair ) is he might be a handy squad member but not someone I'd be interested in now. Durham need to aim a lot higher imo and will get some deserved criticism if they replace Coughlin and Jennings with a couple of journeyman types.

we didn't give him enough cricket was a was still a decent player, so not sure how much cricket he'd get 6 or 7 years down the line

ship... sailed... and all that

236 runs at an average of just under 17 and 5 wickets @ 46 are his Championship stats for this season.

same average as Jennings, then... surprised that Notts don't want him back

Stats for Kent this season are very moderate but still think he's the type of bowler suited for our pitches. Suspect his return has emanated from Sacriston for whom he plays outside Kent commitments.

we might have to take him on, the way things are going

doubtless we'd be deducted points if we had to field a 10 man team, because everyone else had *modded* off to Notts. gawd only knows what will happen once Colin Graves gets back off his holidays to find that Notts have bought half our team... he'll probably feel obliged to buy the other half on principle
