it was a good comeback from the new boy, though. 2-83 off his 10 doesn't sound flash, but given that his first 3 overs went for 40, his return of 2-43 from his remaining 7 is respectable. Had he not been thrown in at the deep end and handed the new ball, we might have come closer to defending that big total.

Yes. Extraordinary figures in the context of the match. I don't blame our bowlers, was nothing in it for them and O can't remember any lbw appeals!
Thought Archie did well, looked quick and didn't get flustered after hos first PP overs. Figures look poor but I was impressed.

Clarky is making himself undroppable atm. Did well at the weekend and then won the game tonight with a 6 off the last ball when 5 runs were needed to win

at least he ought to get plenty of batting in ahead of September, when I feared he might just be sitting on his @rse losing form

Glad I decided to sit this one out! An absolute hammering, Bowman had a decent debut by the looks of it but not sure there are any more positives.

blimey, first we concede the biggest run chase in the competition's history (I think) and then we slump to a defeat like this

the 3 front line bowlers, Raine, Killeen and Coggers all did their bit with the ball, but the back up's went around the park. Then a horrific showing with bat starting with Gay obliging his former club with a first ball blob

on this showing, Bailey for Killeen doesn't look like much of a deal. I think they are similar ages, but there seems to have been a big gulf in quality, today at least

Made relatively light work of Lancs 321 target. I was expecting the customary collapse but an excellent batting performance.
Robinson appears to taken over as captain with Lees back in the ranks!

2-40 and 75 for Rhodes. He's come into his own in this comp. If we'd had McKInney, Clark and Potts available, would he have played?

You're right about the captaincy. Lees presided over the opening win v Sussex, was rested for two games, then presided over two shocking results. Robbo stepped in for the 2 games Lees missed, winning one and losing one and then re-instated for today. We've both always had doubts about Lees abilities as captain and I, for one, have seen nothing to make me change my mind

Agreed and it has to be difficult opening and captaining in all 3 formats. Sounds as if he is staying in charge of the CC side- and presumably the T20 one.

They seem to be either brilliant or hopeless- trouble is that they're hopeless more often than not!
Seems to be a randomness to the team selection and utter confusion- firstly Bedingham was not contracted, then he suddenly was playing only to disappear again.
Changing captains midway through the tournament is another recipe for chaos.
All in all it's not exactly the best preparation for the T20 QF. I hoped this competition would see us get some form and confidence to take into the last part of the season- instead it has been fairly disastrous!
