When everyone was pointing out the chances of Warwickshire challenging Yorkshire for the Championship I pointed out the ablility of our much vaunted bowlers to get injured. One game into the season and Woakes and Rankin have proved the point.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Bresnan is out for half the season. Plunkett's often injured. It can swing around.

Warwickshire don't have the batting to compensate.

Bairstow will be gone soon. Balance may well get called up. Rashid will play the limited overs stuff, as may Plunkett. It's quite probable that Warks will only lose Woakes at any point. Maybe a big part of the season will be which, if either, of Bell or Balance gets a test call.

Besides, Bell, Trott and Hain is the best middle order in the CC, unless Root is released to play in the competition.

Against Hants Bell scored 50% of the runs, in this game Trott is scoring 50% of the runs. Not the sort of 50% Bairstow scored who simply joined in with Adam Lyth and along came Plunkett. This the first decent score from Trott in about 17 games.

Four lbws out of the six wickets to fall.

Where's bloody drs when you need it.

Probably ump was dozing when Patterson appealed and it was an instinctive finger.

As I mentioned before I believe the number of LBW decisions has grown significantly since umpires have seen DRS at work on TV, so they are applying a similar approach even without DRS.

More than doubled per test match, and the reason is many umpires used to believe fuller balls would go over, where as now they believe they will skid on.

Probably Nigel Llong been giving them as I don't expect Gale has had any experience of drs.

2 wickets for Barker at Lords.

Compton could do with a few amidst the early season flurry of centuries.

Gale declared too soon! Should have batted a bit longer to nudge the score past 600.
