Seems to refer to individual players but perhaps the amount per player depends on other factors - the wording is a big ambiguous in the article. " Can earn in excess of £100k" could be interpreted as meaning you can earn a lot less than that as well.

Up to £100k per player. Maximum for the likes of Stokes but dependant on how many England games they're involved in I imagine.

That sounds right, more games played = more cash. A further incentive to get Wood fit!

Thursday 5th Oct 7.30 Riverside according to an email I got from Steven Ransome.
I'd recommend membership of the Cricket Society-good for your cricket "fix" during the winter months.

Sounds good to me!

Interesting tweet from Ashley Thorpe this evening asking if a " young injured player " being released will attract the amount of press coverage as players choosing to leave. Perhaps he was making a general point but that tweet was 'liked' by Adam Hickey so putting 2 and 2 together suggest he might be being let go.
It would not surprise me if that's the case because ( think I mentioned it earlier in the season ) someone at the ground who follows a lot of club cricket told me Hickey was out of favour at Durham because of his perceived attitude problems. He said he had spoken to a senior player who told him Hickey was fast running out of friends with the management- or words to that effect.

If that is true its a very poor decision by the club. Hickey and Ash both attached to Washington C.C.
Not sure how a 20 year old can be selected to open the batting in t20 and bowl his overs then get a bad injury and be released while just begining his rehab. Ash is right in what he says in his tweet.
Sorry but I have said it before it looks like another young player held on a development contract as cheap labour.

Perhaps Thorpe was not referring to anyone on particular and just making a wider point but it definitely gave me the impression he meant Hickey was going. Time will tell.
Agree that they must not keep young players on development contracts for too long, penny pinching for one thing as well as being unfair and it also makes it more difficult to complain about players at the other end of the spectrum who choose to go.

No problem with the club releasing him but not under these circumstances.

Yes, it doesn't feel right if that is what they have done.

Hickey has been given very few 1st team opportunities and when he has he certainly hasn't let anyone down. Even when he played T20 he was only bowled as a last resort when the team was crying out for a slow bowling option.
If he has been released it looks shameful unless there are mitigating circumstances that we aren't aware. I don't see anything wrong with holding a youngster on a development contract until he proves himself, providing, of course that he's given opportunities. Hickey hasn't.

Poynter, Pringle and Burnham have signed new deals.
Let's hope the relegation clauses have been included!
Burnham is regarded highly for some reason but I'm not sure about the other two.

Yeh but someone on high who makes these decisions obviously rates them. And let's face it-beggars can't be chosers.
