Almost unbelievable. I've been out and stopped checking the score after our mid-innings collapse. Got in to find out we won with an over to spare. Why Leicestershire got rid of Eckersley is a mystery.

"Words" between Wor Ned and his ex-colleagues at the end of the game. Then they started arguing amongst themselves as Blaydon Races rang around Grace Road.

18 from the first 5 legitimate balls of what turned out to be the last over and then the bowler taken off after 2 above waist height full tosses. Eckersley hit the last ball for 6!

I only saw a few overs on the stream. Emmerson's co-commentator was saying 180 was a par score and 200 was potentially gettable. At that point it looked as if they'd set that sort of score but Potts took 4 wickets in an over.

Looks like excellent conditions for batting - probably just as well as it also looks as if we'll be chasing 200 plus!

About 20 or so runs fewer than I thought they'd get but it'd take an exceptional batting performance to chase it down.

Well it was a good opening partnership.- probably should have set up a win but catastrophic middle order batting again and a ridiculous dismissal by Raine- after the flying start he surely could have beej less frantic.
It looks as if the plan is for the top 3 to throw caution to the wind given it's a long batting lineup with Potts at 11. Might be long but on the evidence so far it's not particularly strong.
An unlikely recovery against Yorkshire and a miraculous one against Leicestershire.
That said, those 2 wins do show we have depth in the batting so if the middle order can get their act together we will be OK.

I thought we were in with a sniff with 2 overs to go, but 4 off the penultimate over was a killer

13 runs short in the end

we do seem to keep getting to the closing stages of our innings 8 wickets down, making life harder for ourselves
