A couple of early wickets for Chris Woakes on his return.

And I see the Aussie Ryan Sidebottom is bowling first change in that game.

Yorkshire's batting is busted.

Should sign Alex Hales next... Run-a-ball 144 for Notts.

Sacking Mr Gale might be a wiser move.

Hales scored 218 off 218 balls in the end.

Don't think I realised Footitt was back at Notts.

Gale on BBC Radio Leeds sounded like a man who thinks his job is safe regardless of what happens.

He also said that he is not fussed about the County Championship race right now  I suppose that boat was sailed now, but having been so close to winning 3 in a row, surely that is enough motivation to at least attempt to regain the title.

He's probably right but that's hardly the motivational message that you give out as coach to a team that at the moment must be very low on confidence. Nor will it endear him to supporters.

Neither Ballance nor Woakes are likely to be selected for the 1st test v W.Indies because of lack of match fitness according to cricinfo. which is good news for Yorks and Warks..

Warks win(19pts) which opens up the bottom of the table. Warks off the bottom for the moment.

Five wickets for Woakes in the game.

ZBGB was in sensational form for Yorkshire, and then had another couple of unsuccessful Tests for England. Maybe that disappointing England return will effect how Ballance does on his return and puncture his early season form, quite apart from recovering from what must be a pretty serious injury. The availability of Shaun Marsh is a big bonus though.

Yorks did well to cram a defeat in during this round of matches. Looks like Notts might be closing in on a win too, but not much play elsewhere today.

Essex are a long way ahead in CC1 and Somerset and Warks far adrift at the bottom (they have games in hand, but struggling sides don't make too many points). Notts are strolling CC2. Maybe the point of interest is going to be second in CC2, with four sides with a very good chance. I sort of want Kent go up after missing out last time under controversial circumstances, but Worcs getting promoted would be a great effort. Looks like Leics again at the absolute bottom.

A few Pakistan players have been told to return home by the PCB from their CC plans. These are Sarfraz Ahmed (Yorks), Mo Amir (Essex) and Fakhar Zaman (Somerset). Seven players have been recalled from the CPL.

This must be underwhelming news for Lancs supporters.
