With Ashwin being rested with the odi squad wonder if that makes it more likely for Ashwin playing county cricket now.
rumers last weeks, that the likes of Kohli, Ashwin, Jadeja, pujara and more indian players were looking at a short term county deal.
think Ashwin was linked with gloucstershire, pujara, notts and jadeja one other team.

If Essex lose Amir they will be desperate to find a replacement with £500k prize money (£350k players, £150k County).

Yeah we don't need another spinner though...we have Harmer...hmm think we will be okay tbh, miles clear atm, but yeah losing Amir isn't ideal

Ashwin joined Worstershire,
Ishant join Warwickshire and Jadeja close to a signing as well.
pujara likely to join a county as well.
nice to see indian playing county cricket and likewise the counties actually signing them.

seems like it will be hard for kohli to get a county stint that he wanted before next year test tour.

Not really, he's a good bowler especially at county level, the worry of course would be that he might get called up to England again.

Just thought he lost something when he altered his run up to address the problem of brushing the stumps. He'll be late twenties now; still a decent bowler but hardly one to set the pulses racing.

Agreed, after the South Africans cried wolf over him hitting the stumps he's never been the same bowler. As you say though, he's still young and OT is one of the better tracks for bowlers so that might bring something out of him. Regardless of if his international career is over he's still good enough to do the business on the county circuit especially if we may be losing Jarvis.

I'd have Finn in a heartbeat

Never come to Durham though.... a tenner a week won't tempt many, even with all the pies you can eat thrown in, especially now Blackwell has retired.

Bell has stepped down from the captaincy at Warwickshire. He's having an absolutely terrible season in all formats so hardly surprising.

I don't know, I don't think he'd want to sign off his career on such a low note. Look at Collingwood or Trescothick, there's no real reason Bell can't find his form again.

Colly and Tresco scored a boat load of runs at county level after retiring from international cricket. With Bell much will depend how he fares in the final CC games of the season. Either way there'll always be a lucrative 3 yr contract on offer from Sorry.
