I quite like some of that - championship matches in June/July and getting the 50 over games out of the way at the start of the season.

Always played the B&H zones early season and that was before grounds had floodlights. If it proves popular though, FTECB won't continue with it.

Friends Provident Trophy used to be played in April and May before it became the Yorkshire Bank 40 Over Competition. Remember going to the Riverside in April 2008 for a season opener, leadened skies and daytime maxima of 8C. Though the same fixture in 2009 it was sunny blue skies and temperatures double.

compen for missing out on test matches

add in the Glammy £500k a year package (if TB gets that too) and everyone's a winner.... except the extra 13,000 spectators who could have got in at Lords

at least British Rail won't be able to sell any £300+ day return tickets to Kings Cross

I think his bowling does that well enough for him without back injuries

Liam Plunkett leaving Yorkshire at the end of the season and joining Surrey ( surprise surprise !) on a 3 year deal.

Rashid has been recalled to the test squad with no place for Bess or Leach. Apparently the excuse explanation is that the selection is a result of exceptional circumstances and from next year anyone not playing red ball county cricket will not be considered for selection.
It must be galling for Yorkshire? He's there to play white ball cricket but now he's away at the height of the T20 blast.

The way I read it, they didnt want him to go to the IPL this year, but in doing so p*ssed them off a lot. I dont think judging on what I understand, Yorkshire even offered him a deal.

You're right. Martyn Moxon said he's looking to assemble a squad to compete in all 3 formats and Yorkshire " are not in a position to be able to offer Liam a new contract."

Fair play to Surrey in acquiring the services of Plunkett on a long term deal. How much county cricket he will play remains to be seen particularly with the World Cup, the IPL having it's own FTP slot and The Hundred ball game from 2020.

England white ball players are effectively redundant from County Cricket, unless if they are on a pay as you play arrangement or The Hundred is played outside the county cricket season.
