Typical! I place a Division 2 team top runscorer accumulator and select Angus Robson as Leicestershire's top runscorer.

Won't mind having Angus Robson at Yorkshire on a summer contract, though I imagine he wants regular County Cricket.

It's going to do wonders for the morale of the academy batsman bringing in a 25 year old who's got a pretty moderate record(av.31) in the 2nd division. Not a signing for the likes of Yorks and Durham who have excellent academies, more for the likes of Hants and Sussex who have to rely on imported journeymen.

Academy batsmen are not standing out and first team batting options are thin on the ground, only backup with CC experience is Will Rhodes. All it needs is two players missing for injuries/international call ups for Yorkshire to field either a makeshift batsman or play an academy player not amongst the runs.

Rashid, Fisher and Willey are available to play Warks. Sidebottom, Brooks and Plunkett are still injured.

Yorkshire’s 13-man squad to face Warwickshire County Cricket Club:
Gary Ballance (Captain), Tim Bresnan, Ben Coad, Matthew Fisher, Peter Handscomb, Andrew Hodd (Wicketkeeper), Jack Leaning, Alex Lees, Adam Lyth, Steven Patterson, Adil Rashid, Jared Warner, David Willey.

The return of Rashid and Willey will strengthen Yorkshire's lower order batting to usual levels, where Shaw and Coad got blown away Chris Martin style against Hampshire.

Small dilemma, do Yorkshire stick with Patterson or does Ballance take a gamble and replace him with Fisher or Warner for extra pace and variety in the seam bowling quartet?

Disappointing returns for Patterson in the last game, but surely he stays in, particularly early season. With Sidebottom, Brooks and Plunkett out, there's still room for deserving new players to be selected.

Angus Robson has signed for Sussex. Don't know quite how he gets into their side at present.

Allan Donald can't be Kent assistant as he doesn't have the right coaching certificate but he's allowed to assist Sri Lanka for the Champions Trophy... :?

Got to wait til 2018 before Donald can get the certificate ECB want and then he can join Kent...

Does this mean Jason Gillespie will be assisting Kent for the summer?

I read that he can't do it all summer so they will look for someone else.

Donald was around 2007 for a period when England's bowlers were hopeless. Probably wasn't his fault though. AD was offered the job full time but took a position with SA.
