Now, this was a bad day's cricket for one side.

Could have been worse, Aukland were 12-7 at one point.

Rubbish is an understatement, i've seen tailenders in county cricket who can hold a bat better than Craig (I cant pronounce his surname so i'll call him Frankie Cocozza)

Chris Nash is leaving Sussex, he had a year left on his contract but he's going now by " mutual consent." According to George Dobell he was supposedly annoyed at being overlooked for the captaincy when Luke Wright stood down.

Presumably he has another County lined up. Hardly likely to forgo a years salary otherwise.
Warwickshire?

Id hazard guess he isnt even close. I know WG Grace famously scored a triple hundred vs Sussex when he was nearly 50....

And Jack Hobbs had an opening partner who scored the first test triple in 1930, he played well into his 40s.... Andy Sander, something like that.... I believe he was really old when he cracked it vs Windies.

Andy Sandham, days short of 40 year old when he got 300+ v W. Indies in the Caribbean. Surrey legend, player, coach, scorer.

FTECB have sent out a directive about sanctions to be imposed on Counties involved in tapping up players reports the Times with fines in range of £20k-£50k for counties found guilty of doing so. It follows complaints from several 2nd division teams who have suffered because of it-Sir ITB involvement one suspects. As one expects from such an organisation it's a pretty useless lip -serving sanction as it's virtually impossible to monitor. More sense surely in adopting Surrey's proposal on compensation and greater incentive in the ECB grant for fielding home grown players.
Not so sure either whether tapping should be stopped-it's known as head-hunting in any other profession and is a commonly accepted practise.
