if Lancs keep this up they will have bought themselves a decent side. Has Sheik Mansour taken over the red rose?

Vidarbha win their first ever Ranji trophy title.
with Rajneesh Gurbani being the main man for them to win the title.

Good performance by Rajneesh. The partnership between Akshay and Aditya was very crucial to give much important lead to Vidharbha.

Quite surprised considering Yorkshire made an approach for Fabrace a year ago and did not materialise. I would have thought Farbrace is next in line for the England job, with Collingwood as his right hand man.

Cricket Paper, which is normally reliable, reporting that Silverwood is being lined up to replace Bayliss. I'd be happy with that with Colly retained solely as fielding coach so enabling him to still oversee things at Durham. Sharp is a proven excellent youth coach at both Yorkshire and Worcs. Yorkshire's loss looking very much Worcester's gain.

And interesting article in Times on developing fast bowlers.

Interesting, but probably not in the way intended. The list of names are all injury crocks or players who have yet done nothing. It occurs to me that Shine's claim to remodel actions for that extra pace might be linked to the fact the players he mentions working with get stress related injuries.

As an example, when's the last time Mark Wood bowled a 90mph ball? He got put into the set up as a quick bowler with a bit of gas, gets Shine tinkering, then hes injured for two years and comes back barely hitting 80mph. Not sure this is at all a victory. Shine seems to have turned Wood from a guy with a really good county record, into a player barely now able to play, and a shadow of his former self when he has on evidence I have witnessed. Finn is the same. They were very vocal about making Woakes bowl quicker, and has he been 100% since?

Is Lizzy now on the ECB hack-roll? This article is way too ECB-hero-worshipy to give her any credit moving forward.

Its also pretty laughable that English journos are now talking about Australia's pace bowler fitness and management being the golden shining example of the world. Its not like, for year after year, Australia have had crocked bowlers all the time. The planet aligned in this series, but this is basically an exception. Starc's had his injuries, and Cummins was what, injured for years without every playing? Are any of these going to be bowling 90mph when they are 30? I very much doubt it.

Lets not make the exception the rule
