Peter Trego, has signed a white ball only contract with Somerset for next season

A pointless contract extension if Rashid plays in The Ashes, Yorkshire will be lucky to see any of him at all.

pointless if you're a Yorkshire fan. Essential if you're Adil Rashid and you have to have a red and a white ball contract with someone in order to qualify for future England selection

Sounds like if he's not in the England frame, Rashid will stop playing first class for Yorks.

I actually wonder if the ICC pay compensation to counties or test boards if players are involved in the Cricket World Cup? Judging by the ticket prices they chuffing well should do.

It's the ECB, rather than ICC, who pay the compensation and it can be quite substantial. Strauss was quoted a few year back a figure of £100k to Counties who supplied a player involved in all formats. So Yorkies giving Rashid a contract isn't as daft as it seems.

Barker to Hants seems a strange move. Perhaps Warks were planning to phase him out

I didn't know he was still there! Don't know of his status but is he in the same boat as Barry McCarthy ? He has to leave Durham because he's out of contract and would have to be registered as an overseas player.
