Last T20 was at the end of June so not played many games this year. Think he did pretty well in the RL50.

Strauss is back

Chair of the Cricket Committee. I wonder how soon he'll promote Flower to a more prominent role?

If Strauss was around this year he could have locked the doors of the Oval and run the series down without it being completed and claimed the Ashes.

A good idea, but it would mean they'd have to give all the money back. How would they afford to pay the players?

I suppose Strauss could have prorogued the rest of each day's play once 25 overs had been bowled, that way they could save the ashes series, save Root's career as captain and keep the money

everyone's a winner!

I'm surprised Boris didn't send Cummings around to suggest it

Great-Presumably this means he's Giles' boss.

He regards Colly very highly so presumably key position for him.

As part of his role, Strauss will monitor all levels of cricket in England and Wales to ensure a "thriving professional game at the heart of the sport".

First time I've heard the Hundred being referred to as the 'heart'

There's a story in The Mail On Sunday suggesting Yorkshire want to sign Dawid Malan. He's got two more years on his Middlesex contract but , according to the story, his future there is uncertain.

His captaincy must be under question given Middlesex have massively underachieved this season. Seems his agent is putting out feelers. Wonder how Malan and Franklin got on??

Now there's a thought! Did Malan succeed Franklin as captain or was there another one between them? Either way Franklin, as a senior player, probably was involved in the decision to make Malan captain in which case they probably get on well.
You are right about the questions over his role - the article suggests his position is under threat because Middlesex are carrying out a review after their poor season.

New three year Hampshire deal for Kyle Abbott despite Brexit uncertainty over Kolpak players.
This article suggests the ECB may change the eligibility rules for overseas players and allow counties to sign 2.

Dom Sibley is a contender for players player of the year, but he's also in the running for players young player of the year

what's the cut off age I wonder? 24 seems too old to me.....and he's had 6 full seasons as a professional

can you be a young player at 24?
