Former New Zealand batsman Jamie How hit the 2nd highest List A score ever yesterday - 222. It came off just 138 balls and included 8 sixes. His team Central Districts posted 417/6 in their 50 overs but only beat Northern Districts by 19 runs.

I just hope the players themselves know who will be playing when the actual games start.

Geoff Cook probably discovering the whereabouts of Liam Plunkett :hmmm

Plunkett would be lucky to reach L**ds, he and Jacky Brooks would be tearing up Headingley big style. More pubs and bars per square mile you can shake a stick at.

Is there any pubs close to the Riverside? Vaguely remember some houses nearby and a park but nothing else. Might have to open a pub within the vicinity and name it "The Plunkett Arms" :salute

I see the young Kiwi bowler Hamish Bennett has returned to domestic cricket after being out injured for 2 years (since the 2011 World Cup).

"The two Barbados sides scheduled to participate in a T20 competition against six English counties have pulled out just hours before the event was due to start. Six English counties - Warwickshire, Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Hampshire and Northamptonshire - are currently in Barbados preparing for the new county season, but their preparations have been hit by the withdrawal of both local sides from what was to have been the showpiece event of the trip."

Gurinder Sandhu has won the Steve Waugh medal for being judged the best domestic cricketer in NSW.

I've only watched him on tv when he was playing for the Sydney Thunder and I didn't think much of him, tbh. He looked alright, but nothing special. Since then, he's played 2 matches for the Blues and picked up 14 wickets! :o I've read a couple of articles that talk him up. He played in the U/19 world cup in 2012 and recently played for Australia A in the series against the England Lions, and also featured in the PM's XI game.
