It seems odd that The Bears don't have a thread of their own.

Troughton out c & b, another gifted wicket by him when seemingly going well.

Warwickshire are in danger of following other CC championship winners by being relegated the next year. With Somerset playing at Derby and us at Middlesex in the next games we could end up changing places with them. Porterfield, averaging 16 in 6 games, has to be replaced, anyone will do.

Though no doubt when he returns, he'll have been messed about by the England coaches...

It is odd AC, when Wright and Chopra returned from the Lions they struggled, Chopra seems OK now but Wright's wicket taking has fallen away.

If only Warks had a young, once in a lifetime batter with experience of playing in three continents, unspoiled by failure...

Warks will be fine, I reckon. A devastatingly talented bowling attack, especially now that Barks is back. It'll be 2 from Somerset, Surrey and Derby who go down. Warks will be disappointed with this season, and Dougie Brown will take a bit of flak, but you'll still be one of the div 1 teams to beat next year..... with or without Porterfield.

He shouldn't. One day stuff has been awful - but then it has been for a while (2011 was worst one day year in our history) - we just over-performed massively last year in the CB40. He's had terrible luck with injuries/ call ups in the CC - we've used 26 players in the first team this year - and could only field 9 players in a recent seconds match. Sort of summed it up that we were killing Surrey at Guildford - then was totally unexpected rain and Chris Wright was ill and unable to field on the last day.

Ironically fitness will be a big factor in second half of the season. Min acceptable at Warwcks is 10% over England fitness levels.

Never been sure why its so hard for Champs to retain but one factor is pitches - Sussex prepared one at Hove in May where there wouldn't have been a result if we were still playing now and Guildford was the same. But you live and learn.

I'm hoping we sign Ravi Bopara TBH.
