Things going from bad to worse on the injury front, lets hope Barker stays fit as he's bowling so well at the moment and Woakes seems to be coming slowly back to form.

Maiden CC 100 for Laurie Evans who now averages 50 in CC this season after being by far best English batsman in T20 last year. A star may be being born.

Obv hes no Sam Hain though.

It looks as if the match is going to be a draw but plenty of time left and if Warwickshire go on and win it the teams near the top of the table better watch out because-despite Wright being ruled out for the season-I think Warwickshire will have a real chance of defending their title.

Early wickets has to be the order of the day or we shall be facing a battle to get a draw.

The other day Phil Brit on commentary was going on and on about Broad being a cheat, he must have called him a cheat ten times in a minute. I sent him an e-mail asking if he'd ever broken the 70mph limit on a motorway. He replied that he hadn't and that if he'd cheated at cricket his career would have been more successful.
So I asked him if he could name any cricketer who had walked after being given not out by the umpire. He didn't answer that but rambled on saying, within the next 12 months the MCC would change the rules to deal with walking. What planet does he live on.

Barker on fire at the moment 2 wickets in 3 overs, is this going to be decisive.

Porterfield who I still rate failed again yesterday and now averages 16. On the same day a certain young Hong Kong-born tyro smashed 123 not out against a very strong Durham second team attack.....

(ps haven't a clue whether Durham seconds are any good at all, but am assuming the attack is immense as it suits my narrative.)
