Damn, I should be at this match!
Haven't they done well. I remember the days when Warwickshire was a big attraction for West Indian fans, what's happened?
Where do we start?
1) West Indies in decline.
2) Back then, black Britons were of Caribbean origin, with a cricket culture. Now, they're mainly of African origin, with no cricket culture.
3) Second-generation Britons of WI parentage are moving towards football and athletics, instead of cricket, simply because they see no role models in English cricket, while there are black Britons in football and athletics.
I saw more black Britons at the Diamond League meet in Stratford East than I did at the Oval for the Windies match against Pakistan....
That's probably why Chambers, Jordan and Gordon learnt how to play the cricket game in the Caribbean, before moving to England...it's not really happening here.
