Barbados routed the Leewards to win by an innings and 49 runs on the third day of their four-day match. Needing 233 to force the visitors to bat again, the Leewards were bundled out for 183 in their second innings by pacer Fidel Edwards (4-24) and offspinner Ashley Nurse (3-94). Devon Thomas topscored for the Leewards with 60.

The battle for the right to be hammered by the Bajans in the semi-finals is interestingly poised. Once again, veteran wicketkeeper Carlton Baugh topscored for Jamaica with 78, to help his team to reach 215 all out in their second innings. Legspinner Akeem Dewar took 4-74 for the CCC. Chasing 237 to win, the CCC were 155-5 going into today's final day. Wicketkeeper Chadwick Walton has topscored for the CCC so far, making 47, while pacer Jerome Taylor has already taken two wickets.

A total of 14 wickets fell on the penultimate day at Providence. Offspinner Amit Jaggernauth took 4-78 and medium pacer Rayad Emrit 3-39 to dismiss Guyana for 282, just 12 runs short of Trinidad's total, tailender Zaheer Mohamed giving the hosts hope with a battling 58. Legspinner Dev Bishoo then continued his outstanding match by taking 6-71, and he was supported by pacer Keon Joseph's 4-54, as they routed Trinidad in their second innings for just 212, Jason Mohammed topscoring with 33. Chasing 225 for victory, Guyana were 17-1 at stumps.

The CCC capitulated early in their chase of victory, easily routed for 177 by part-timer John Campbell (4-17) and left-arm spinner Nikita Miller (3-61) to give Jamaica a victory by 59 runs.

There was a very rare draw in this competition, brought about by Guyanese rain. Chasing 225 for victory against Trinidad, Guyana were 80-3 when play was called off, with nightwatchman Dev BIshoo on 25 not out and Leon Johnson on 30 not out. Pacer Marlon Richards took two wickets in the second innings.

The semi-final at Kensington Oval is intriguingly balanced after the first day, after pacer Sheldon Cotterrell (3-28) and legspinner Davy Jacobs (3-58) combined to dismiss defending champions Barbados for 245, wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich topscoring with 69 not out. At stumps, Jamaica were 52-1.

The Windward Islands hold the advantage in the second semi, despite being bowled out for 248 by spinner Imran Khan (4-59). Rommel Currency topscored for the Windwards with 68. At the close of the first day, Trinidad were 36-3, having lost Darren Bravo for a duck, yet another poor score, pacer Delorn Johnson doing most damage with two wickets so far.

Jamaica captain Tamar Lambert hit 121 to put the visitors in command of their semi-final, going into today's third day. Supported by fellow veteran allrounder Dave Bernard's 42, Jamaica posted 302 all out, against left-arm spinner Suleimann Benn's 5-102. Faced with a first innings deficit of 57, Barbados were 18-1 at stumps.

On a rain-affected penultimate day, Trinidad curiously declared on 140-8 in an attempt to manipulate the new county-cricket-based scoring system. Evin Lewis topscored with 47 not out, while pacer Mervin Mathew took 4-19. The declaration gave the Windwards a 108 lead on first innings, but denied the visitors a chance to secure full bowling points. Batting a second time, Devon Smith hit 44 not out to guide the Windwards to 88-2 at the close of the third day.

It was a sorry display of batting at the semi-final at Queens Park Oval, where the Windwards crushed Trinidad by 234 runs within three days. A total of 18 wickets fell on the third day, which began with the Windwards making 231 all out in the second innings, with only veteran Devon Smith making a score of any significance (63). Spinner Imran Khan took 5-46. Set an improbable target of 340 to chase, the hosts were bundled out for an embarrassing 105 all out by medium pacer Kenroy Peters (7-36). Lendl Simmons topscored with 31.

Jamaica are in a commanding position going into today's final day at Kensington Oval. Barbados could only manage 223 in their second innings, built around Jonathan Carter's 111. The main destroyers were pacer Jerome Taylor (3-37) and left arm spinner Nikita Miller (3-52). Set a paltry 167 for victory, Jamaica were 106-2 at stumps, thanks to not out batsmen Jermaine Blackwood (53 not out) and Andre McCarthy (41 not out).

In another shocking batting display, Jamaica won the second semi-final by just one wicket, after collapsing from 111-2 to 155-9 in chase of a paltry 167 for victory. Overnight batsmen Andre McCarthy (43) and Jermaine Blackwood (64) did not last long, and it was up to Dave Bernard (12 not out) and last man Nikita Miller (three not out) to take Jamaica into the final. The damage was done by medium pacer Kevin Stoute (5-29) and left arm spinner Suleimann Benn (3-78).

In a very surprising start to the final, only three wickets were lost on the first day at Beausejour!

Put in after losing the toss to the Windwards, the Jamaican batsmen batted slowly but solidly to 232-3, thanks to Jermaine Blackwood's 94 and Nkrumah Bonner's 88. The not out batsmen are Andre McCarthy (29) and captain Tamar Lambert (14). Pacers Delorn Johnson, Mervin Mathew and Kenroy Peters have one wicket each so far.

The best batting seems to have been saved for the final day, as only ten wickets have fallen at the halfway stage of the final. On the other hand, it means we cannot read too much into half-centuries scored on one of the flattest tracks of the season by batsmen who've been failing with the bat in the matches leading up to the final.

Aided by 60s from Andre McCarthy and Nikita Miller, Jamaica made 392 all out, pacers Mervin Mathew (3-68) and Kenroy Peters (3-59) doing most damage. At their turn at bat, the Windwards reached 113 without loss at stumps on the second day, thanks to veteran Devon Smith (66 not out) and Tyrone Theophile (44 not out).

After only two wickets fell on the first two days, a total of 17 wickets fell on the penultimate day of the four-day final. Jamaica took a firm grip on the match, when legspinner Damion Jacobs took 8-47 to skittle the Windwards out for 217. Veteran opener Devon Smith hit 111, but there was no support from the other batsmen.

Leading by 175 runs, Tamar Lambert elected not to enforce the follow on, and at stumps Jamaica were similarly unimpressive with the bat, on 147-7. However, thanks to their impressive first innings total, the target is now 322 with three wickets in hand. Jermaine Blackwood is still there on 88 not out, while medium pacer Kenroy Peters has taken a hat-trick in his four victims to date.

Jamaica have won the Headley/Weekes trophy....
:clap
The final ended in a rare draw, after being set a highly improbable 376 for victory, the Windwards batted out the overs to 204-6. Earlier, medium-pacer Kenroy Peters took 6-66 to dismiss Jamaica for 200 in their second innings, Jermaine Blackwood topscoring with 118. Sunil Ambris then hit 102 to secure the draw for the Windwards.

Jamaica won the title by virtue of securing more batting points in the first innings, and took the match by eight points to five.
