The Windwards beat defending champions Barbados by nine wickets in st Lucia within just three days, in another sorry display of batting. Trailing by 39 runs on first innings, the Bajans were dismissed for an embarrassing 90, medium pacer Kenroy Peters taking 5-16. The Windwards then hit off the target of 52 for the loss of just the wicket of Devon Smith.

Trailing by 177 on first innings, Guyana reached 219-8 at stumps on the third day, Vishal Singh topscoring with 73, while pacer Jerome Taylor has taken 5-29 for Jamaica so far.

In another low-scoring match at Warner Park, the CCC took a narrow 38-run lead on first innings over the Leewards. Shacoya Thomas and Raymon Reifer both hit 50s to guide the CCC to 202 all out, against spinner hayden Walsh (4-59). The Leewards were reduced to 135-5 at stumps on the second day of their match, spinner Ryan Austin taking three wickets so far.

Jamaica defeated Guyana by seven wickets at Sabina Park. In their second innings, Guyana were bowled out for 264, pacer Jerome Taylor finishing with 5-44. Set a paltry target of 88, the hosts knocked it off with the loss of three wickets, Nkrumah Bonner topscoring with 38.

Jahmar Hamilton hit 119 to put the Leewards into a strong position going into today's final day at Warner Park. The Leewards were all out for 299, spinner Ryan Austin finishing with three wickets. Set a target of 262, the CCC were 110-4 at stumps, pacer Gavin Tonge having taken three wickets so far.

Cellar dwellers Leewards enjoyed a rare victory, when they beat wooden spoon rivals CCC by 72 runs. Chasing a target of 262, the CCC were bowled out for 189 by spinner Hayden Walsh (4-81). Keeper Chadwick Walton hit 56, but there was not much else.

Pacer Delorn Johnson (5-48) and spinner Alston Bobb (4-53) combined to dismiss Trinidad for 222, Jason Mohammed topscoring with 73. The Windwards were 12 without loss at stumps.

Defending champions Barbados put out another sorry batting display to be bowled out for 184 by pacer Raun Johnson (3-38) and left arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul (3-33). Rolston Chase topscored for the Bajans with 55. Guyana were 35 without loss at stumps.

The Leewards were 205-6 at the close of the first day of their match against Jamaica. Kieran Powell topscored with 91, and Tonito Willett is 51 not out, while Andrew Richardson, Jerome Taylor and Tamar Lambert have all taken two wickets each so far.

It was a sorry display of batsmanship at the Queens Park Oval, as the Windwards were skittled out for a paltry 122 by spinner Akeal Hosein (6-33), Devon Smith topscoring with 48. With a first innings lead of 100, Trinidad were 127-7 at stumps at the halfway stage of the match, with Lil Bravo still there on 57 not out.

In another low-scoring match, Guyana were dismissed for a mere 140 by left-arm spinner Suleimann Benn (5-28), Sieunarine Chattergoon topscoring with 50. With a first innings lead of 44, Barbados were 116-4 at stumps on Day Two.

The match at Warner Park is the exception, a rare high-scoring affair. Tonito Willett hit 78 and Hayden Walsh 86 to take the Leewards to 322, rarefied atmosphere for Caribbean domestic four-day cricket. Spinner Tamar lambert finished with 4-68 and pacer Jerome Taylor 3-41, John Campbell hit an unbeaten century in Jamaica's strong reply of 212-3 at stumps on the second day.

The poor batting displays continued with two matches finishing within three days.

Darren Bravo topscored with 69 in Trinidad's second innings score of 210 all out, pacers Nelon Pascal (3-40) and Kenroy Peters (3-37) doing most damage. Set a target of 310, the Windwards were bowled out for a mere 124 by spinner Akeal Hosein (5-34), veteran opener Devon Smith topscoring with 55.

There were 30s from Rashid Boucher and Roston Chase as Barbados made 186 in their second innings against legspinner Dev Bishoo (5-71). Set a target of 231 to win, Guyana were bowled out for an embarrassing 94 by pacer Carlos Brathwaite (4-35) and offspinner Ashley Nurse (3-39).

However, batsmen continued to dominate at Warner Park, with Jamaica making 351 for a first-innings lead of 29. John Campbell hit 110, while offspinner Anthony Martin took 4-77, and pacer Gavin Tonge 3-65. At stumps on the third day, the Leewards were 117-3, with Devon Thomas on 53 and Kieran Powell 33.

Jamaica converted a certain draw into an unlikely three-wicket win at Warner Park. Trailing by 29 runs going into the final day on 117-3, a draw looked like the most likely result when Kieran Powell (86) and Devon Thomas (94) were at the crease. But when they were out, the rest of the batting fell away for them to be all out for 246, part-timer John Campbell taking 4-15 and offspinner Jamie Merchant 3-101.

Set 218 to win, Jamaica were 67-1 at tea, with a chase of 151 off just 26 overs in the final session looking unlikely. But a run-a-ball 43 from Campbell, and quickfire 30s from Nkrumah Bonner and Dave Bernard kept Jamaica in the chase, and Carlton Baugh brought the visitors home on 218-7. There were two wickets each for pacers Gavin Tonge and Kelbert Williams, and for offspinner Anthony Martin.

There was a rare strong batting performance at Providence, as the Windwards reached 289-6 at stumps on the opening day. Sunil Ambris hit 114, and he was supported by 60 not out from captain and allrounder Liam Sebastien. Left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul was the best Guyanese bowler so far with 3-69.

The Windwards tightened their grip on the second day of their match. They were all out for 307, medium pacer Chris Barnwell taking 4-54. They then reduced Guyana to 187-7 at stumps, spinner Liam Sebastien taking two wickets to date. Asad Fudadin topscored for Guyana with 82, while captain Shiv Chanderpaul could only make 26.

Trinidad were strongly placed at the end of the first day of their match against the Leewards, reaching 263-6, thanks to knocks of 78 from opener Evin Lewis, 60 from Darren Bravo, and 61 from Jonathan Augustus. Allrounder Tonito Willett has taken two wickets so far.

Left-arm spinner Suleimann Benn took 4-66 to dismiss the CCC for 269, with 50s coming from Shacoya Thomas, Kyle Corbin and Chadwick Walton. Barbados were three without loss at stumps on the first day of their match.

Guyana worked their way back into the match on the third day at Providence. Their tail wagged a bit until they were all out for 213, medium pacer Kenroy Peters finishing with 4-42. With a first innings lead of 94, the Windwards collapsed to 96-8, left arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul 6-42. Rommel Currency is the only batsman offering any resistance with 40 not out.

At Queen's Park Oval, we saw a rare sight - a first innings declaration! Allrounder Akeal Hosein hit 102 not out, and wicketkeeper Steven Katwaroo 91, as Trinidad made 458-7 declared. In reply, the Leewards collapsed to 86-9 at stumps on the second day, pacer Shannon Gabriel taking 3-21 to date.

It was slow going at the 3W's Oval on the second day, as opener Kraigg Brathwaite batted all day for 85 not out from 274 balls! Replying to the CCC's 269, Barbados were 248-4, Kirk Edwards hitting 109.

Shock, horror...a match has finally ended in a draw! Left arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul took 7-49 to dismiss the Windwards for a mere 114 in their second innings, setting Guyana a victory target of 209 on the final day. However, the Guyanese hung on for the draw at 171-7, young opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul topscoring with 40. Medium pacer Kenroy Peters took 4-38.

Dismissed for 113 in their first innings by pacer Shannon Gabriel (3-21), wicketkeeper Jahmar Hamilton topscoring with 52, the Leewards were asked to follow on, still 345 runs behind Trinidad. At stumps on the third day of their match, the Leewards were 159-6, Kieran Powell topscoring with 67, spinner Imran Khan taking 3-29 so far.

Almost the entire penultimate day was washed out by rain at the 3W's Oval, with Barbados on 249-4, still 20 runs behind the CCC's first innings score. Opening batsman Kraigg Brathwaite is still there on 85, and with him is keeper Shane Dowrich on eight.

You wait a long time for a bus, and then two show up, one after the other....

There was another draw yesterday! Thanks to an entire day being practically washed out by rain, and by very slow batting by Barbados, the match at the 3W's Oval ended in a tame draw. Barbados scored 356-9 declared, for a first innings lead of 87, thanks to Kraigg Brathwaite's marathon knock of 91 from 320 balls. Ryan Austin took 3-85. At the close of play, the CCC were 101-5, Kyle Corbin hitting 52 not out, against two wickets each for spinners Suleimann Benn and Ashley Nurse.

Trinidad hammered the Leewards by an innings and 107 runs. Following on, the Leewards were bowled out in their second innings for 238 by legspinner Imran Khan (5-53).

Very true...he didn't get out of first gear in the great Caribbean rivalry. He was out for a duck this time!

Even without Kraigg Brathwaite, Barbados ended up in a commanding position at the end of the first day, reaching 243-5, thanks to 67 from opener Omar Phillips and 50 not out from wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich. Pacer Shannon Gabriel and spinner Imran Khan have each taken two wickets so far.

It was a low-scoring tussle at Sabina Park, where 14 wickets fell on the opening day. Jamaica were dismissed for 194 by the rehabilitated offspinner Shane Shillingford (4-61), veteran keeper Carlton Baugh topscoring with 56 not out. At stumps, the Windwards were 56-4, offspinner Jamie Merchant taking two wickets so far.

In the battle for the wooden spoon, Guyana had the upper hand after the first day, reaching 209-6 in their day/night game. Opener Asad Fudadin topscored with 71, while there were two wickets each for pacers Kevin McClean and Raymon Reifer.
