I wonder if there is some bad blood between Giles & Watkinson.

Probably his own decision. He's been part of Lancashire for years.

And Lancs have been absolute garbage for most of those years-and if they appoint King of Spain it'll remain so imo.

no suprise that Watkinson is leaving, however Giles certainly won't be a step in the right direction..

Could be worse. They could get Moores back.

Estatic to see Watkinson leaving. His reign has seen constitutional changes that destroyed LCCC in the name of OT as a venue, baffling signings and a complete lack of successfully converting young talent into LVCC players.

Wouldn't mind Giles at all, did a solid job a Warks. Hopefully this will quash any chance of Chapple becoming Coach as well.

Excellent player in his day though.

Gilo did a good job at Warwickshire, developing county cast offs (particularly those from Essex) into players who are England Lions material.

Sooner Lancashire get back into Division 1 the better.

I see Chris Adams was also interviewed for the role but it looks like Giles is nailed on.

Confirmed that Chappell will have a coaching role next season but wont be captain.

Presumably he is still registered as a player then.

Lancs have just switched to a side I want to see do well, with Gilo in charge. He didn't show up well with England, though he was in a difficult position. But I hope he shows up well in his new opportunity, given the goodwill he built as an England player. Just no more stakeholders stuff please.

Glad to hear Giles has come in, thought he did a very decent job with Warks. Not so happy to hear Chapple will remain in a coaching role though.

He was heavily involved in the signings of White and Buck.

Wonder how much playing he'll do.
