Kabir makes a good start, by taking the first championship wicket of 2014

He'll be injured by tomorrow, probably

We've had almost a month of good weather here but when I got up this morning I saw we had overnight rain. then I remembered the CC starts today. The county season even influences the weather over here.

Graeme Smith looks to be laying down a marker for the season, by clubbing 4 fours in the first 3 overs of the Glammy match

He'll probably be injured tomorrow too!

It'll be interesting to see if Matt Prior keeps wicket, given that Ben Brown is also in the Sussex side.

Middlesex bowling attack looks formidable.

it's their batting, though, isn't it? Once you're through Rogers and Robbo, there really isn't that much left

No surprise everyone choosing to field first.

Only match delayed now is ours, quite bright here but bloody damp, not sure how it is at Southampton.

Prior has Achilles injury, which is why he's not keeping.

Dexter and Malan can play, but I do see your point.

Gone for 19. Poor morning in the end for Surrey 57/3. Burns & the highly rated Sibley (0) the others to fall. All 3 wickets went down with the score on 34.

Smith came in like a Lion and went out like a lamb. Typical of his recent recent performances for SA.
