I think he might start as the number 1 spinner in 4 day this year. There's a possibility he and Riley would both play in the same XI although that might not happen in the first couple of months.

Matthew Spreigel has announced his retirement at the age of 27..... i s'pose it's due to the fact that he couldn't find another county after Northants released him....shame really, useful all-round cricketer..

Nick Compton is leaving Somerset with immediate effect. He's likely to re-join Somerset but this article implies there's a slight chance be could retire.

Sounds like being overlooked by England may have played a part.
I hope he continues playing. He's too good to retire early.

I wonder if Compo will get the same sort of aggro KP got when he moved from a southern county to be nearer his property?

Acommodating KP for the 2013 Ashes squad came at a price for Compton and the replacement of Andrew Strauss still yet to be adequately fulfilled.

Jim Allenby is moving to Somerset.
It'll be good to see him ply his trade in a higher division, but I think I expected him to be Glammy through and through, particularly since he signed a 4 year deal only last year.
