and if he does, I hope it goes okay. The longer he leaves it, the harder it will be.

NSW bowled today, and at Tea Time, Abbott has 2 wickets. Apparently the first brought a lot of enthusiasm and cheer and hugging from his team-mates.

Just looked in on the leading run scorers in the Sheffield Shield for this season, looking at the numbers of potential candidates to replace Chris Rogers should he be dropped by the national selectors. The top three are openers; Cameron Bancroft (WA), Joe Burns (Qld), and Ed Cowan (Tas).

Cowan has hit his third century of the season today. Last I heard he was approaching 150.

I know nothing of Bancroft (WA).

got a lot of crowd support when he took the ball, apparently. Bowled a bouncer with his 5th delivery.

so much for all those 'experts' who said he'd never be able to play again.

I'm delighted for him. It would have been even more tragic if Aussie cricket lost 2 promising players from the game.

Both Sean Abbott and Ben Hilfenhaus are having a good bowling display to lead their teams to big wins at home.

Abbott on 6/9 :clap , with at least one wicket coming from a bouncer :clap , Queensland 9 wickets down, still to make NSW bat again.

Hilfy has 4/11 and the Croweaters are 8/38 chasing 359 for victory.

Went to CA's website to see Abbott's highlights and also got to see a very Warne-esque delivery from Boyce to get rid of Ryan Carters- who was on 197 at the time.....

both videos can be found here: http://www.cricket.com.au/news/match-report/new-south-wales-v-queensland-sheffield-shield-day-four/2014-12-12

good range of dismissals, although at first glance the lbw shout looked a bit high to me (no way Peter Willey would have given that to a durham bowler).

Good delivery from Boyce. I like the Warne 'bowling your biggest break into the legside footmarks' technique. I always have.

Really pleased for Sean Abbott. What a way to get back on the horse. I can't imagine what it would be like to be in Abbott's shoes, but fair play to the lad.

Darren Berry has gone on personal leave, temporarily leaving the Redbacks in the hands of a caretaker coach. No idea what the actual reasons are. :dunno
