The announcement has been postponed due to the death of Phil Hughes.

This is the right thing to do.

Only 2 possible championship matches as aged relative won't go on a Sunday. I thought that 1 of our 50 over games was to be at Campbell Park and I can't see it. Maybe there has to be some negotiation with MK Parks.

Quite pleased with Yorkshire's early season fixtures, largely against opposition capable of getting a result with a depleted squad.

Having a good study at the fixture list and mid-season it's just sheer congestion. Between Friday 19th June and Monday 10th August, Yorkshire are playing 35 days out of 52. Barely enough time for rest let alone preparing between the different formats.

I thought the idea of extending the season was to ease fixture congestion, but the ECB are taking a scattergun approach of scheduling fixtures. Cue complaints of player burnout, tournaments devalued due to worn out wickets and teams fielding weakened sides.

Hampshire v Sussex as the season opener. I wasn't expecting that.

Season starts next month.

Or even this month if you count the MCC v Yorkshire game in Abu Dhabi.
