Very quiet on here! Is everyone resigned to the drop now after today's performance?
At some stage tomorrow when Sussex have 3 bowling points, they are batting at the same time and Hampshire get 1 less batting point it will be definite.

So that's bonus points and tie-breaks out of the equation. Just need Yorks and Hants to win now!

I've been putting a few posts on the CC discussion thread as no one on here. Mind you they've all been massively negative until about 2 hours ago!

Vince and Adams rediscovered their form this season in the absolute nick of time. Any later at all, and we'd already be down.

But without a shadow of doubt, the primary reason why we are not yet down is because of what Berg and Fidel have brought to us since signing. Along with Tahir in 2008, those two have to go down as two of our best immediate-impact signings of recent years.

Tomorrow surely can't go wrong for us with the bat. In only requires one of these two to go through to an 80+, or someone else to come in and score a 40, and we should be home and dry. So the big eye is obviously on Headingly. Will they declare overnight? Will they bat on? If the latter, what will Sussex be chasing and in how many overs? Will Sussex even attempt to chase down whatever score they are set? Will Yorkshire have the desire after a long season to lift themselves for one last day with the ball?

If we go down, we deserve to go down. Well, everyone would deserve to go down except for Fidel and Berg.

Thanks for everything Pothas. You'll be missed. My nickname for you was apt and I will never forget it. For the last time, arise Sir Nic.

And James Taylor did score 297 vs us. Would have been nice if him and Hales didnt turn

A pretty quiet thread this year as compared to previous years but a reasonable season in the end considering our turnaround in the CC, getting through the group stages of the Royal London and getting to Finals day in the T20.

Hopefully we can start better next year. Is Fidel with us next season?

Congratulations on today's result. The end of the season makes one wonder how you ever ended up in this state in the first place.

Much appreciated.

With half the season or more gone, and having played rubbish cricket with bat and ball, we categorically deserved relegation at that point. But then Edwards came along and then Maclaren and some of the upper order found a bit of form and we somehow pulled an escape out the bag.

Going to be tough next season with two big boys coming up from division two.
