Great to see Lancashire promoted, County Cricket is not the same without the Roses battle.

congratulations to Lancs

Ridiculous having Lancs in div 2. Lets hope Gilo can work his magic for another season, and ensure his boys stay up

Unlikely. We don't have a proven opener in the squad, yes Brown has done well this season but has a poor Div 1 record, Reece failed badly last time we stepped up and was close to being dropped before he broke his hand this season and Hameed while talented has only played two matches. While it looks like Horton made the choice to leave, his experiance at the top of the order will be badly missed unless we bring someone in. There's always Proctor but he hasn't played this season.

Our batting generally is pretty weak baring the two Saffers. Croft has put in some innings over the season but didn't do well in Div 1, Davies is developing but has yet to move on to being someone you can back for runs most games and without Smith we have a long tail if the Faulk isn't kept on.

The bowling looked sub par without Jarvis to lead it, Chapple is likely done as a first team player as well. Though that said the spin options are strong with Kerri and Lilley in the side and Parry on the bench.

Just can't see us making Div 1 stick unless we do some shrewd signings in the batting department.

sounds like the same problems that Durham have, but with more spinners ;)

See we've picked up Mustard as cover for Davis. Hope this doesn't become another Sutton / Cross situation.

Would Mustard to replace Horton as opener in all forms of cricket be such a bad idea? He needn't keep wicket when Davis is fit.

I thought Mustard's batting prowess was exactly why we've been able to pick him up. If Prince goes then Mustard would be a handy addition to the squad in limited overs.

Hard work today, even with Jimmy back in the attack.

Hard fought draw with Hameed showing his worth against a decent attack. Pretty much rules out any chances of winning Div 2 which was unthinkable not too long ago.

Another hard day at the office despite Jimmy getting Cook for single figures. Prince's last game, worrying to think what our batting will be like without him next year.

I wonder if they have any targets in mind? Surely will have but it can't be anyone as good.

There have been no firm rumours about a big name signing which is a little worrying.

Hammed played a decent knock today, which is good to see.

Second in Div 2 didn't look possible mid way through the season but Surrey have played some fantastic cricket. T20 champions and promotion marks a cracking season for Giles and the Red Rose but huge questions remain over the squad as our current bowling and batting will not see us stay up.
