I wonder why Ryder only bowled 4 overs?

Cracking day against Glam with Prince and Peterson putting on 320 for the third wicket.

Six wickets on the back of the Prince Peterson partnership, very good day at the office.

Another good day. Five second innings wickets already taken having made Glam follow on and still over 200 behind. Will take something very special to stop the Red Rose marching on.

Huge win over Glam, sees us sitting 32 points ahead of Surrey and 68 points ahead of third placed Glam whose challenge has wilted, though both have a game in hand.

Young Liam Livingstone recieved a glass to the head during a bar fight after our T20 quarter final win. Reports are nothing more serious than a few cuts, lucky lad.

I'm a bit surprised by this.
@TomMaston: Paul Horton released by Lancashire. Would be a very useful signing for any county #countycricket

Durham should try and sign him. Very useful county cricketer.

Daft decision, especially given we have no openers in the squad who've proved themselves at first division level.

I can only assume we've got someone lined up to replace him.

Can't see him being without a county for long.

Could there be any connection between your last 2 posts,M_S? I.e. Horton' s release and fracas at Essex pub. Horton has been a regular all season averaging 36. Can't be cricketing reasons he's been released surely?

The reports say the fight happened when one of our boys bumped into someone. Giles and Buttler were there at the time which suggests it wasn't a wild night!

"After speaking to the club in mid-season, I wanted to have a look at my options and I am now looking forward to a fresh challenge where my experience can hopefully benefit a new club.

"I wish the club every success in the future.”

Not really sure what has gone on, the MEM are speculating that Horton won't play again this season.

It does seem odd, I'd have thought strength in depth is more important in the first division than in the second so even if Lancashire have identified a replacement it should have been an addition to the existing squad.

The suggestions seem to be that Horton was unhappy about being passed up as Captain, especially with the way he has been overlooked again with Smith out for most of the season. Looking at his quote it would appear that Horton was looking for a better deal or he wasn't staying.

That makes sense. I think whoever gets him will have pulled off a very shrewd signing.
