Alex Lees will be playing for England by then. Selectors should listen to Boycs.

I'll be amazed if Alex Lees gets an England call up this summer. He had a poor season by his own standards last year, 796 CC runs at 33.12 and did not make much of an impact in a Lions tour to South Africa.

That said, I do see the logic in calling up a relatively lesser experienced but very talented opener against wayward opposition in the home internationals. If Lees does make an impact, it will put him in good stead against stern opposition. Only concern I have is whether Bayliss thinks Lees is not aggressive enough, his attacking shots come through shot placement rather than braun, similar to how Will Porterfield plays.

He’d be a left field choice admittedly but he clearly must have an excellent technique otherwise Boyce wouldn’t be such a big fan. I've posted on the Durham thread quotes from both Bayliss and Cook about places being open. Needs someone to score consistently big early season and they’ll be in.

Yeah and Bayliss has covered his back. "...if you score runs early in the season there are possibilities".

Covering for Sangakarra who is meant to be in the Caribbean Premier League

Australia are scheduled to tour Sri Lanka in July and August (3 tests, 5 ODIs, 2 T20s) be interesting whether Finch can cover the whole six weeks.

Surrey have also signed Dwayne Bravo. So much for the new focusing on youth policy.

Well they can only pick 2 overseas in the same XI so still plenty of places for youngsters.
