Bottom order runs after the top half fail, normal Hampshire fare, instead of Berg its McClaren.

You'd think Topley, Tomlinson and Edwards is about the worst 9, 10 and 11 we've had in a while, but not by today's performance.

McLaren shows the value of the experienced overseas pro, but huge credit must go to Toppers and Tommo for hanging around long enough for McLaren to make a difference

Forecast for tomorrow is awful, but no rain currently forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Draw would seem the most likely outcome on that basis, unless we bowl Warks out for very little or they bowl us out (second time around) for very little. Every chance that we could still be in Warks' first innings come day four.

No play until at least 1pm.

In the very unlikely event that we get any play, we could do getting to 200 (bonus point), then getting McLaren to his 100, and then pulling straight out. Could be brilliant bowling conditions.

Oh brilliant. Topley injured his hand whilst batting yesterday, and is seeing a specialist today.

At least it was his right hand, not his left.

4pm restart. It's quite bright behind the clouds, so if they can shift a bit we might be able to get play until beyond 6pm.

Called off for the day. Stupid wet outfield. (It's not been raining for at least four hours)

I thought the ground had a state of the art drainage system?

Wonder how long Topley will be out for, was really looking forward to Edwards and Topley bowling in tandem, now it looks like we're going to have to wait a few weeks for that to happen.

I saw this.... A real pity. I suppose how long he is out depends less on his bowling and more on his fitness to bat and field, .... which must be annoying given that he isn't that good at either of those two things

I spent all winter looking forward to us finally having a decent seam attack for D1. Fidel, McLaren, Topley and Berg. But literally before we've even bowled one ball, 50% of that attack is injured. And at the worst possible time, when the fixture list is 100% Championship matches and the conditions scream out for seamers.

Relying on the likes of Tommo, Wood and Wheal (like last season) suggests to me another poor start to the season (like last season), and quite possibly another great escape being required at the back end of the season (like last season). Such a shame.

Sue the glove manufacturer, they're clearly useless.

I see Jackson Bird helped bowl Surrey out cheaply at Trent Bridge!
