Not good about Berg, provided some useful runs down the order when the top half failed last season.

Doesn't look a bad LVCC team, hope they can fire a bit earlier this time.

Can't believe it all starts in 3 days time.

10 weeks out for Berg. One game out for Jimmy. Topley available for next week.

Looks like Carberry, Alsop, Dawson, Vince, Smith, Wheater, Ervine, McLaren, Fidel, Topley and then one of Tomlinson, Wheal, Wood and Crane for our opening game. I'd be surprised if it's Crane, given that we're in April and it sounds like we're slightly concerned about playing Topley as one of just three main seamers due to him not playing red ball cricket for some time (and having had injury issues in the past). But then again, Crane has had a good pre-season.

13 man squad has been named, being all the players listed in my previous post except for Wheal. So down to Tommo, Wood and Crane for that last bowling spot I suspect.

Warks the first of hopefully 8 sides this season to fall into the trap of seeing some green on our wicket, and deciding to invoke the new rule to discard the toss and bowl first.

There's been a decent handful of times in recent years where sides have won the toss down here, and wrongly chosen the bowl. The grass doesn't seem to assist the seamers here at all. It generally remains the batting paradise that it usually is.

(Famous last words?...)

As I half expected, Tommo takes the final place in our XI.

Cold and windy conditions, could have done with a bowl first up.

Yes, he has had a fairly decent morning.

66-6, stumps x 6, devil's number, it can only mean doom and gloom.

50 for McLaren and Topley equals his highest FC score (12)
