Essex Match Thread 2016

Postby The Professor » Mon Apr 04, 2016 4:10 pm

Starting to wonder if Essex will do its this season.

Had a stonking win in the MCC University match - with Jaik Mickleburgh paying a blinder with two hundreds.

Currently playing Middlesex and Bopara is 82* at tea.

Bopara isn't playing in the IPL this year, I presume

If not, that could be the difference for them

Neither is Tendo. Huge bonus for Essex to have the pair of them for the full season.

surely we must be all but there...would be a huge achievement, but let's be honest, the squad we have had for past decade or so, so much talent, we really should have been in div 1 a long while ago, so happy that silverwood and irani, have put huge importance on red-ball cricket... i liked Grayson, but there was far too much emphasis on white ball cricket, which is all well and good, but we should have been in div 1 a while ago... if anything its come too late for our bowling attack...Napier retiring, and Masters can;t be fair behind, we need to find some fast bowlers from somewhere and quickly..
