That'd be exactly why I jacked in my membership a few years ago. The way the weather interfered whenever I was available to go was beyond a joke. The final year that I was a member I'd only managed to see one session against Somerset in the whole of the first half of the CC, and yet I'd gone through my diary and pencilled out whole mornings or afternoons for every single match. No good wasting all that time when you're self employed

It was different when the boy was a member too, because his membership was £30 or something daft like that, but once he got older and became more independent there seemed little point in carrying on. It felt more like a charity donation than a subscription

which is what me buying 3 T20 season tickets is, of course

I've just seen the weather forecast for Tuesday, which is the only evening that I could go, and unsurprisingly it suggests that it is likely to be tossing down.

still.... might be wrong.... often is....

Strictly speaking... in order to be completely true to form...... it will toss down all day, but stop raining about 4pm. Then the sun will come out, turn a horror day into a beautiful balmy evening, but there will be no play because the umpires took the early decision to call it off for the day.

Yep. Other alternative is dry for what would usually be the first two sessions and then rain from around 5 each day followed by the next home game being rained off but dry in the evening.

Cook omitted from the SA test squad so at his age it probably signals the end of his international career.

I mentioned this on another thread. Probably people all over the country doing the same thing as they might only have access to a fixture list and don't have a computer or read the papers.

Careful what you wish for-Cook hasn't been included in the SAffer test squad.

I wonder if they will consider him. T20 probably not a forte but he did well in the 50 over games. What they must do is try and find out ASAP how long Latham is likely to be out for...and make sure Nigel doesn't make the assessment!

McCarthy bowled very well today without any luck. Wood excellent too but I thought Rushworth and Stokes were poor. But of a nightmare day for Ben! At one point it looked as if a ball just dropped short for a catch and he hurt his finger and landed on his knee.
