I think it's more the case of getting some training outdoors. Durham in March isn't cricket weather!

We've played preseason in Kent a few times down the years iirc. It's reasonable logic that the further South you travel the better chance you have of having literally a warm up game as opposed to a thermals and wooly hat encounter at the Riverside.

The incredible thing is a school can get their cricket pitch and net wickets up to a good enough standard in early April that they are safe for pros to use. I wonder what the fees are per term at that school.
