A couple of T20 second X1 games against Warwickshire seconds produced very differing results - lost a low scoring one and then followed it up with a score of 204 in the second. 100 for Cameron Steel and 61 for Harte.
Some poor performances from the T20 regulars though - Rushy somehow managed to go for 13 an over in the first game and that was the low scorer where Warwickshire reached the target of 128 with a ball to spare!

And a certain K.Barker went for 11.5 an over and wicket less
4-0-46-0.
Stupid game this T20.

He must be worth a go in the first team for T20-unless he's a dour blocker and the innings today was a fluke.
Appointing Coggers as captain of the shambolic outfit must mean they're looking to the future - if it was my decision I'd have had Colly as captain to try and hold things together in the field because the makeup of the team suggests they're always going to be up against it. Can't see them scoring anything above par or not allowing the opposition to score well above par-a slight problem.

Yes, suppose the nature of T20 means there can be surprises! Almost winning it last year a case in point - they probably should have won it too! Those early Northants wickets cancelled out the below par score.
I was thinking Thursday would be a good chance to get up and running...until I checked the table and discovered Leicestershire are top with 3 wins from 3! Might mean they are due for a loss.

I'd settle for a decent performance

I'd like us to stop getting out whenever we aren't just nurdling, and I'd like us to look as though we might take a wicket rather than just hoping that the opposition will throw their wickets away

Yep, that'd be a good start. Worry is that we generally do better at home - they have the boundaries as far back as possible and the theory is it negates the opposition big hitters and allows our lot to push the field and run quick 2's!
So they may be even worse on the road. :scared

No news still on our exciting? potential T20 signing so extremely unlikely that he's going to be here in the immediate future.. Given that we have 4 T20's in the next 7 days I think we now call time on the project. I had doubts on it's value from the outset.

I agree. With the points deduction any replacement for Latham needed to be here now.

7 home games, and I think only 3 of them are on prime time friday nights. Be interesting to see what the crowds are like on a Thursday night. They were well down on the other Sunday

Just realised that Thursday's game is live on Sky-bound to have an effect on the gate.
