this was the club's response once he'd made the decision to leave
Graham has played a huge part in the history of Durham County Cricket Club since making his first-class debut in 2004. He was part of the County Championship winning side in 2008, 2009 and 2013 and helped Durham win the Royal London One Day Cup in 2014.

DCCC are extremely proud of Graham’s development that saw him play Test cricket for England and recently become Durham’s leading first-class wicket-taker.

The Club would like to thank Graham for his exceptional service and wish him well for the future.

not sure what else his wife wants, tbh.

Vice-chairman's head served on a platter by the sounds of it.
Impulsive and petulant outburst which won't help Graham towards any future role with the club

Could it be Onion's mother rather than his wife responsible for the tweet? .She's got a bit of history in defending her offspring illogically-maternal instinct!

In the continues absence of anything concrete from DCCC regarding playing staff can I make the following assumptions?

Above blog from Gavin Main suggests that he'll still be on the playing staff.

Presumably Wood's white ball central contract means FTECB are paying his salary until Sept 2018.

3000 ODI v Aussies tickets already sold and huge demand on today's general release confirms we're still staging this game.

I don't know anything about building stands so am probably wrong but I'd guess a temporary structure is likely to suffer more under the elements precisely because it's temporary. A permanent stand with concrete etc is surely more secure than one that is not a permanent structure.
It presumably passed all the safety tests so might have been an unavoidable accident. A regular told me that one of the stewards mentioned part of the flooring was dodgy when they were checking it during the Kent game the week before the T20 but I assume that can't have been the case because surely that would have been flagged up as a major problem. However it is just one reason why I have a bad feeling about the whole thing because if any club was guilty of gross incompetence it would be Durham!

Wood's return is subject of a parachute payment from ECB.

Not so sure how up to date that Guardian article is SW. Wef 2016 Update:
England cricket board introduced the central contracts for the international players 14 years ago and the system used to have two categories like central contract players and the increment contracts for the new players or the ones who are regular in ODI and T20 matches. But with the 2016-17 season, ECB announced that regular test players will get the traditional central contract while they also announced all new white-ball contract where T20 and ODI regular players will be handed a 12-month holding deal. Players in both test and white-ball contracts will sign a 12-month deal with ECB where their county salaries is replaced by England central contract salary.
Woody has been given a white ball contract for 2017-18 so is still centrally contracted as I understand it. Whether that salary isla paid directly by ECB to the player or by parachute to the County is immaterial.

Match winning century from Tom Latham for New Zealand against India in the first ODI. He was keeping wicket & batting in the middle order.
