Club has confirmed that he has a British passport. Reasonable 1st class record-let's accept we're not going to attract superstars at present.

I think he had a standout season for WA 2 or 3 years ago, but I'm not sure how much he has featured since. Still, as you indicate, beggars can't be choosers and besides, Hastings wasn't a superstar when he came here, but he became one shortly after. Lets hope he can do what Hastings did for us.... preferably without the Australia call up.

He appears to be just the sort of bowler who can take some of the pressure off Rushy

Interesting signing. Seems an odd choice to me but if he is anything like as good as Duke or Thorp he will be a useful addition.

Very upbeat letter from Sir ITB to members today.

Debt restructuring means interest repayments reduced by 90%

Membership up 40%; T20 receipts up 18%; Events and conferencing increased.

Hospitality income at IT20 increased by 15% per person.

Work on Academy ground starting this winter.

Both concerts sell outs but only brings small financial benefit to club

We will make some new signings.

Interesting that sold out concerts only result in small financial benefit. I assumed they'd be a major source of revenue but clearly not.

Both he and Carse showed real potential last season but both, understandable at their age, showed lack of control with the ball. Fitness as always an issue with younguns.
Wonder what Nigel does in the winter?

Hopefully he's focusing on other interests! If not and he's still 'hands on' during the close season it will be further bad news!

Bit tongue in cheek was the Nigel dig but the club do employ a fitness trainer who should work, with Nigel, particularly during the winter months strengthening areas of weakness. It seems to be accepted that young fast bowlers will break down when solutions to it should be sought in workload and strengthening vulnerable areas. Be interesting to see how Coughlin manages next season under a different fitness regime.

Yep. If he stays free from injury it'll either be pure luck or, much more likely , entirely down to a different regime.
