 And the worse news is Lewis has told Rayner he's "hopeful" Onions will stay- so he'll definitely be leaving then!

The Guardian reporting that we'll get a paltry £20,000 ( buy out clause ) for Coughlin, Notts may offer Jennings the captaincy in order to try and sign him with Lancs also interested.
Kent mentioned as being interested in Onions.

Wouldn't suprise me if Notts offered Jennings the captaincy...with Read retiring dosen't seem to be a natural replacement there for him..

Worst season of his career. Gets a big money move. #logic

As I said a couple of weeks ago, I have no problem with Coggers leaving. He's an injury liability to us, and that liability comes as a result of his bowling. There is no room in our starting XI for him if he can't bowl and bat at 6, so the best thing for him is to move on. As long as he continues to bowl he will spend more time on the physio's table than off it, IMO, so he should have picked a county where he could have been a first team regular as a batter only, because I believe that is where his future as cricketer lies. That he's chosen Notts demonstrates how little he's thought things through. As an all rounder he's competing with Samit for a starting XI berth, so good luck with that, because he's up against one of the best county pro's on the circuit. If there is such a thing as an un-drop-able player, then Samit is probably closer to it than most. He doesn't get injured either, so there's nothing there for Coggers....... except the money of course..... don't discount the money.... it's a short career.... especially when you're injured for half the season.... every year

Not just Samit. Mullaney too - who is almost as good an allrounder as Samit. (Difficult for me to comment on Coughlin, because I've practically seen nothing of him. But those two are seriously good county allrounders).

At the end of the day, it's Notts' UK catchment area again coming into play...

I'm not sure I'm that worried about KJ leaving either. He's had a terrible season, and we've managed better without him than we did with him. Had we signed a better OS early in the season, we might be challenging in the div despite the 48 points and despite KJ's form. He's had 4 seasons with us as a first team regular and he's had one good one... albeit an excellent one. I'm beginning to come round to the view that perhaps last year was an aberration, rather than a glimpse into the future.

Graham can go with my blessing too. He owes us nothing, and I'm not sure that he represents good value for money any more

TBH I can only recall KJ having one good season...and he got picked for England at the end of it.

In four day cricket he does, but not in limited overs.

And in any event, I've always had the feeling that Notts throw Mullaney out there to open because they have no-one else. So if they were to sign Jennings too, that maybe does allow Mullaney to drop lower down the order.

Mullaney is averaging nearly 50 opening,Notts problem is finding a partner for him which they See as Jennings. No doubt they likewise have a place in mind for Coughlin. They had similar plans for Gidman some years back and that lasted about 5 games. So good luck to those 2. Personally I think we've just dodged 2 expensive bullets.
Jennings hasn't been able to buy a run since mid-April; that's more than just a blip! Coughlin has a chronic back problem.

maybe Cogger's motivation was changing physios rather than teams. After all, he'll spend more time with his physio than his team mates

According to George Dobell ( cricinfo ) Jennings will be going to Notts provided they secure promotion - and they surely will?
