Emphatic win for South over North today.

Underlined to me that Bell-Drummond will be playing for England by 2020.

What's the team by 2020?

May well not be too different from now. Of the current team, only Cook, Anderson and Broad are the wrong side of 30, and it's far from impossible Cook could go on until 2020 (personally I think the home Ashes in 2019 will be his swansong, but he could carry on). No reason at all that Hameed, Jennings, Root, Stokes, Bairstow, Woakes, Buttler, Finn and Wood couldn't continue to form the backbone of the team for the next three years (form permitting, of course).

I do agree that Bell-Drummond looks very likely to be an England prospect by then.

I think it will be 3-0 to the South.

Finn, Curran, Roland-Jones, Gregory
v
Wood, Bresnan, Gurney

Spot on.

Well done Mason Crane for the crucial spell today in the middle overs.

Not sure what was the point of this three match series, but at least it enhances the point that we're alot better at cricket darn sarf!

Tim has done himself some good. I reckon Andy Flower has taken note.

Bresnan was playing as one of those who qualified on his PCA MVP rating and not a selectors choice as such. Flower will have noted that Bresnan was discarded some years ago because his bowing was no longer of International standard.Excellent county all rounder whose batting has improved since his international days. Can't see him troubling top batsman in the slightest with the ball

There are only three counties in the north though. In the south there are... lots.

Wondering which side of the line Notts, Leicester, Derbys, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire and Glamorgan consider themselves.

Also Sam Northeast must have been right screwed up in the head in this contest!
