Lucky the season is finished today.

2 out of 2 is not half bad.

Notts are listed top, but they have equal points for everything, so maybe N'hants should be on alphabetical order.

Oh. Notts on wickets taken.

It must be all of that buffet bowling this afternoon.

While a pretty exciting chase, it's a tad surprising to see teams setting up chases this early in the season.

I would agree with that.

I don't know why it is happening so early but I'm not going to complain about it!

The cricinfo report implies Derbyshire were up for it because it was a chance to record a rare win. Perhaps two fewer games in division 2 is also a factor but I was also surprised to see it happen early in the season.
No disrespect to Derby but they're highly unlikely to be promotion contenders so Northants weren't risking losing to a rival for a top 2 finish.

I don't think anyone saw us as a top 2 team.

I would agree with that though Captain.

I'm feeling very agreeable today.

Having been out all day I was surprised to see a result and even more surprised to see a Northamptonshire victory. In recent years they have been pretty reluctant to get involved in any contrived finishes.

I thought that we'd done a few?

Wasn't expecting a win when I saw the target.

Another low scoring win. Derbyshire were a man down though. The batting still needs to fire. When Newton scores a century and Wakely 79 we should be scoring more than 277.

Yep they just never seem to all fire at the right time.

Maybe they've got used to being rescued by the lower order. Now, however we don't bat down to number 10.

Yes it's not quite the batting line-up that it was.

It's been far too long where that has been the case.

I think that these guys who always seem to be referred to as young but aren't really so young (at least not all of them) need just a little more consistency.
