I wasn't pinning much hope of him scoring many runs anyway.

First target is to see off the new ball without losing more than a couple of wickets.

Somerset have two wickets left and only 78 runs ahead, so currently they are odds on to lose.

So it wouldn't be all doom and gloom if we did lose this game.

12/3, a dire start.

Vince has to counter attack.

12/4, at least its likely there'll be something riding on the game next week.

Extends the season another week!

Not really I've got a feeling Somerset's ninth wicket pair are going to do what Essex's ninth wicket pair did to us earlier!

25/5, looking to better Essex's first innings total.

Crumb of comfort is that most of the runs this season have come from Vince and the lower order.

While all this carnage has been going on the Somerset ninth wicket slowly plods on.

48 runs and counting.

If Somerset escape with a draw, we go on to lose, and with Yorkshire winning it'll be a pretty bad day for us. Middx winning yesterday will make it a rotten round of matches.

Just think where we were when we had just bowled Essex out for 76.
