Odd that the return game at the Rosebowl is in under two weeks time

Indeed, it's very odd. And unfortunately we do have prepare ourselves to be thrashed in that one. Root, Bairstow, the lot of them are available for Yorkshire for that one.

But who cares. My focus is on this win!

Wow, well done Hants (and supporters) on that stunning win against the odds, and a great chase on the last day. Won with a bit to spare in the end. Very resilient after a nightmare start.

Not quite the last day AC, although I can imagine there were Yorks supporters wishing it was this afternoon.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Most impressive part of this result was that it was done without George Bailey, Reece Topley and Mason Crane.

I seem to recollect that Warwickshire played Hants twice early on and on occasions it's Somerset.

Then there is the fact we are down to 8 teams, and 2 less fixtures.

Even with our opening win, I think our primary focus still has to be on avoiding relegation. So on that basis, the fact that Essex-Lancs is seemingly heading towards a draw is a great result for us. Along with Warks, I think those two are the most likely candidates to be in the relegation mix.

I tend to think that way too Brendy, and being a Bournemouth supporter in the Premier League tends to enforce that viewpoint over the two major club sports!

And it wasn't a high scoring win after all!

Still a feeling that we now know that our bowling and batting lineups can do the business when firing, and there is a slim hope that we can break that 40 plus year wait!

First time I've really studied our fixture list, and for once it almost makes some logical sense.

Block of three CC games; Block of one-day games; Block of six CC games; Block of t20 games; Block of four CC games.

Very close to five clearly defined, stand alone blocks. But what lets it down is one random CC game within the block of t20 games.

Fidels first 2 and Bergs first over were poor, other than that we have bowled well. Wheal looks decent
