Enjoy it while you still can, I don't think there is a better feeling in cricket then seeing your team lift the County Championship crown.

Depends how it's won though. No doubt Essex thoroughly deserved the award this season but the circumstances of Middlesex award last year must have made it a bit hollow.

True. Those circumstances were far from ideal.

Cook misses out for Essex, not too suprised...Silverwood has set our squad the challenge of finishing season un-beaten, would be some effort :)

Would that have been Sidebottom's final home game? If so it's a shame he has to miss it.

Shame there will be no battle of the Ryan Sidebottom's this week, the Aussie and Warwickshire version was looking forward to the encounter too.

Looks as if K Cadmore will be the one to miss out! Thought that Aussie Sidebottom looked distinctly ordinary. Can't see that Warks side taking 20 wkts.

Yorks making hard work of the lower order. Not the first to do so in recent years, though it doesn't look as formidable (on paper) as it once did.

Batting getting easier at Headingley now that sun is beaming down by all accounts.

On the grand scheme of things today is going Yorkshire's way - Middlesex shot out for 234 and Somerset 7 down for 200 at Surrey. Even Essex are in a favourable position against Hampshire.

100 for Jeets batting at eight. But at least they're all out for a below average score. Five-fer for Fisher. Stutterer's nightmare.

Subject to the weather, it looks like all four D1 matches will have a result. Could be very pivotal in the relegation battle.

I'm hoping that the Oval is still it's usual flat self. (I did suggest that Somerset don't have the batting to put on a big score, and that a flat pitch should give Surrey the points)

Notts continue to struggle against the searing pace of Rory Kleinveldt

It would be terrific if they lost to Northants today and then to Sussex next week. Norty's have Leics as their final opponents. I'd be quite happy to throw the game against Worcs to see Notts fail to gain promotion.

I'd be happy to throw this game, if it gave Sussex the chance of promotion going into their Notty game, but sadly they blew that chance last week against the mighty Derby............. hopeless!
